Stablecoin Payins

Stablecoin Payins let clients receive stablecoins from external senders into a self-custodian wallet linked to a usd_stable balance. Every deposit is automatically screened for compliance before being credited.

Receiving a Stablecoin Payin

Funds arrive at a self-custodian wallet created via the Create an Account Reference API — see Managing Stablecoin Balances & Wallets. No action is required from the client to receive a payin once the wallet is enabled; Cobre detects the on-chain deposit via webhook automatically.

Supported networks and tokens for payins

Polygon	USDC, USDT
Tron	USDT
Stellar	USDC

Deposits in unsupported chain/token combinations are not detected or credited.

Compliance screening outcomes

Outcome	Result
Approved	Funds are credited to the balance
Blocked wallet	Funds are not credited; the wallet is permanently blocked (terminal state)
Error / timeout	The specific deposit is not credited, but the wallet remains operational

Key Terms

Payin: A stablecoin deposit received from an external wallet into a Cobre-linked wallet.

Compliance screening: The automated review applied to the sending wallet before a deposit is credited.

Sweep: The internal process that moves approved deposits from the client's wallet into Cobre's treasury after screening.

Payin lifecycle

A stablecoin Payin follows a simple lifecycle:

1. Create a usd_stable balance
Create a Cobre Balance with metadata.currency: usd_stable.

2. Create a self-custodian wallet linked to that balance
Create an Account Reference of type self_custodian_wallet using the account_id from the previous step and the chain and token you want to receive.

3. Wait for the wallet to be enabled
The wallet starts in connectivity.status: processing. Poll or wait for it to reach enabled — 🔗 List one Account Reference — before sharing its value (the on-chain address) with the sender.

4. The deposit is detected and screened
Cobre detects the on-chain deposit via webhook and screens the sending wallet before crediting any funds.

5. Funds are credited
On approval, a global_credit transaction is generated on the destination balance and funds are swept to Cobre's treasury.

Description: Retrieve the transaction generated once a payin is credited.
What to expect after the action: A global_credit transaction on the destination balance, with chain/token metadata and the on-chain hash as tracking_key.

Implement Webhooks to track incoming deposits

We strongly recommend implementing Webhooks so your system is notified as soon as a payin is credited, instead of polling transactions.

What to expect after using this API

Deposit is detected and screened

Cobre detects the on-chain deposit and screens the sending wallet before crediting any funds.

Balance is credited

On approval, a global_credit transaction is generated on the destination balance, and funds are swept to Cobre's treasury.

Wallet may be blocked on a failed screening

If screening blocks the wallet, no further deposits to it will be credited. A new wallet must be created to keep receiving payins.
